Our Staff

Your child learns in a loving, nurturing environment thanks to our professional staff. Our employees fulfill all standards for child licenses. Every teacher’s assistant has prior experience working with children and is enrolled in child development classes (continuing education). Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR training for adults, children, and toddlers have been completed by all of our teachers.

All teachers plan developmentally appropriate activities and lessons relating to weekly themes. Weekly themes are explored during circle time, art, science, literature, and music. Your child’s development of language and understanding is promoted through these daily activities. You may be asked to occasionally bring in certain materials for your child’s daily lessons (ie: writing pads, writing materials, etc.). Lesson plans and other important papers and information about your child’s class are posted on the parent bulletin board outside each classroom.

Our Philosophy

At PlayPlace America we believe that each child is an individual with their own needs and talents. By providing them with an enriching, loving, stimulating and challenging environment, children are able to journey forward to future steps of learning in the areas of physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.

To meet this challenging environment, our curriculum will be presented through constructive, teacher led activities. Children will always experience first hand the subject matter being taught. During the lessons, the children will draw pictures, hear stories, sing songs, dramatize, etc. The emphasis will be to provide learning experiences that are fun and exciting.

PlayPlace America will provide a safe, loving, warm and caring environment in which children can learn and grow. By allowing the child individual choices within group limits, self-confidence and self-esteem will be developed.

Parent support and participation are very important in a child’s early years. We promote parent involvement by providing an open door policy which enables parents to “pop in” and see what their child is doing at any time.

You are welcome to speak with us at any time if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Homework

The school-age classroom does allow time for children to do their homework; however, we do not assume responsibility to make sure that it is completed. We will try to help out if your child is having problems, but their work still needs to be checked at home.
